Planetary Populations

Our research group specializes in the Bayesian analysis of exoplanet populations. Recently, we’ve focused on using data from NASA’s Kepler mission and “SysSim” the Planetary Systems Simulator. Recent Ph.D. student Danley Hsu led the effort characterizing the occurence rates of planets using heirarchical Bayesian modeling and Approximate Bayesian Computing. Current Ph.D. student Matthias He has extended this work to characterize the intrinsic distribution of planetary system architectures.
The results are described in a series of papers.
